Some other things can affect your cycle- change of eating habits, excessive exercise, stress, lack of sleep, illness...
One of my friends in college was a runner who ate so healithly her body didn't have enough fat on it and so she stopped getting hers. There are lots of reasons why this could have happened. You should go see your gynecologist to make sure there is nothing else wrong, and to figure out what to do to regulate your cycle.
Good luck!

Three months is a long time to go without getting your period if you're sure you aren't pregnant. It would be a good idea to go to your doctor and have a check-up. Some things that can hold up a period are excessive exercise, large loss of weight, poly cystic ovary and many other less common reasons.

If you are having thyroid problems, [blood test required from Dr.] or if you are excercising like a maniac this will put your body in stress mode and periods will stop. Think about it, if you were a wild animal constantly being pursued everyday, running and running, you would not come into season for breeding, nature takes care. An animal in flight cannot "settle" nest and nurture young.

I would go to my ob and get a full physical. A lot of different factors can affect our cycle. Stress, change in daily routines, thyroid, diabetes and many other changes. Getting on the pill will help with you cycle getting regular. But you need to get to a doctor to see what is going on.
Good luck..:)
