how do i add the Sims 2 downloads that i downloaded from the computer to my Sims game?

i downloaded new hairstyles,clothing,and housing items from the intenet and i was wondering how do i put them on my sims game so my sim can be able to wear the clothing item or use the furniture.......how do i upload the items to my sims game

First, you need to make sure that you have downloaded these items to the Downloads folder.

If you do not have a downloads folder, create one. (that is in My Documents/eagames/sims 2. Make sure to spell downloads with a capital D.

Then, you need to use winzip, winrar, or q-xpress to extract these items to the downloads folder. When you download new items, if they require a MESH (they should say), you must be sure to download the mesh if it isn't included in the zip file.

If you have already done all of that, when you start up your game go to Game Options.
There is a section that asks if you want to display the Custom Content Catalog at startup. Choose yes.
When you restart your game, you should receive a warning that says there is custom content detected, at the very bottom you should have the option of checking Enable or Disable custom content. Enable it.

That should be all there is to it. :)

you have too put them in the right folders in the game file
is there no readme file with them files you download if not then go back too the website take a look at the info on there

you need a program to extract the files unless you downloaded them from the official site.
official site - just double click on the package file it will install itself.
