In college, someone can better their education, earn a degree to better their chances of getting a job with good pay and benefits, further develop social skills, have a great time in an environment of their peers, become more responsible for yourself, and learn more life skills... and some people have their own specific reasons for going to college.

Quite frankly because a college education will help you to get a job that you enjoy! It won't help you make more money....infact the highest paid people in the USA are people in Fast Food. If you stay working at a fast food joint for 10 years, and advance as an average person in such employment does, you will make $100,000 or more a year by the end of the 10 years. However, you will hate your job! See the point?

College isn't just about learning stuff that will help you in any career you choose and to make more money later on. No other time in your life can you be irresponsible and not get in trouble for it. You find out who your true friends are and you grow up. College is much more than just classes.
