I am applying the "If you don't fight them there, you have to fight them here" doctrine. Should I be worried about the Pho place where I eat lunch? Please advise, Bush supporters.

???
The Vietnamese were not terrorists...they just butchered people. Losing the war didn't threaten America...because it was to stop the spread of communism (not to here???)

Osama and 911 have something to do with Iraq? Is that the best you can do after four years?

I heard that back in 1969. "We have to fight them in Vietnam or else they will be here in my little town trying to kill anyone and everyone who likes freedom". Well, I was in the military back in 1975 when we lost Vietnam and I'm still waiting for some commie to walk down my street to kill me. So far it's been the gang members ( Americans ) who I have to fight off. You know...Drug type of gangs and all. But no commies. 31 years and still waiting for them ( North Vietnam ) to come and get me.

Trying to compare Viet Nam to Iraq is pretty lame.

Aside from the terror, acts of war and murder the Islamic radicals have committed against Americans all over the globe and on our own soil since 1979 - I offer you these quotes from Bin Laden and alQaeda:

"The operations are under preparation and you will see them in your houses as soon as they are complete."

"If America will not convert on its own, we will eventually become strong enough to topple the government and convert America and her people by force."

Please give me similar threats or quotes from the North Viet Namese at any time during our involvement or even prior to our involvement.

And, for what it's worth, I personally view the spread of any ideology of hate and total control to present an immediate threat to the freedom and way of life we enjoy in America.
Do not be so naive as to think that America has no serious enemies left who simply cannot tolerate a free and democratic society.

Well If people recall, Vietnamese did not fly planes into the World Trade Center, terrorists did. There is no comparison. To deny the terrorists are real is handing them a victory. Did fighting a religious group in Waco stop religion That is what Clinton did He attacked the innocent and slaughtered innocent women and children.

The NVA were the armed forces of a sovereign nation. They had no interest in bringing the fight o the US. Therein lies the difference. Osama bin Laden declared war on the US and vowed to bring the fight here.

Firstly, the Vietnamese were communists, not terrorists. Secondly, when we pulled out they butchered the S Vietnamese. Even though they didn't come over here (which was not their intention [ as the Vietnam war was to prevent the spread of communism]) they still committed genocide. Pulling out of Iraq would end up with a similar occurrence

Most Vietnamese don't care about religion
Most Vietnamese are Christians

Arabs are mostly Muslims
They hate Christians

Yes, our children might have to fight them here someday. The US Vietnamese might have to fight them too.

Yeah, see those were typical scare tactics that the republicans tried to use in the 50's and 70's didn't work then and it won't work now. The difference is that we are not fighting those who attacked us. We have gone in a completely different direction. Wag the dog.
