The ability to look myself in the eyes and know that even though I've sat in the bathtub with a butcher knife, I faced my own demons. Once you face your demons, you are ready to face the world.

Being born prematurely at 27 weeks, many decades ago , actually surviving is quite an achievement, since I am legally blind .

No one had any expectations for me , expert wise , except my parents who expected me to attend public school and high school go on to university , graduate and work and live independtly. Many many disabled people and non disabled people don't achieve this. I've taught school, worked as a freelance journalist and still do, worked for a Member of Parliament, written speeches, been a transportation coordinator.

I've written a curriculum on self-esteem for disabled persons.

But the thing that makes me most successful and what I've achieved is peace of mind. I've done what I wanted to do, exceeded any and all expectations of me , I live independently with my cat and at 53 almost I can look back at my life and say ' it's been a good life afterall.'

I 've no regrets and I wouldn't change a thing.

Well there's material achievements and spiritual ones. Materially I've done fine, through hard work. But my best achievement is the self-confidence I now possess which took years to build up, after bullying at school. I really never thought I'd feel good about myself when I was at school and now, look at me now, the GorgeousFluffpot!

The greatest thing I have achieved so far in my life is happiness. As I see it, that is the greatest and most wonderful thing anyone can achieve. To be content with ones life is the ultimate purpose; if one is not happy, what is the point of living?

well, "i'm a tiger", if you're name comes via the chinese zodiac, then i'm a dragon. and, luckily, we dragons really enjoy esoteric studies. over the years i've experienced alot of amazing results from having pursued this course of interest. and dragon or not anyone and everyone can benefit from "consciousness growth" via meditation, chi kung, yoga, etc. the differences between "before and after" are quite remarkable and beneficial---i'm much healthier, happier, and somewhat "wiser", for sure. based on my perception, these changes would not have arisen in the absence of these practices. so, in terms of "achievement", i feel that following this course was my most important one. in the "usual world" i taught for many years at the grad.school level, quite successfully, etc. ;-)
