San Antonio, Texas. I have a 2500 sq ft/4bdrm,2.5 bath,2 car garage home and I only have $925.00 monthly mortgage. Good neighborhood. We also have many major good paying jobs here including the new Toyota plant that just opened . The people are pretty nice, there are no outrageous traffic jams and we have almost everything that bigger cities have including a Sea World and Six flags. We also have the three time champs San Antonio Spurs, and not to mention Eva Longorias family, where she frequently stays at, live here. I would highly recommend it!!

Nearly all of Texas is the best because of high pay and low cost of land and housing.
The very best counties are--Anderson, Houston, Cherokee, and Nacogdoches. If you want to live just a "little higher on the hog"--Tyler and Lindale are great imerging towns.

Most places are pretty cheap as long as you live outside the city limits.

I went and visited Ashville, NC. It is very good to live there and work. They have great paying jobs, and the cost of living is very low.
