How old were u when u started? Your still young and most times it's just your chemisty to have irregular periods, but unless there is something going on with ur female parts? There is no reason why u can't conceive. You do know that being on birth control can also regulate ur periods. It's also important to take folic acid to help your body when u do want to concieve.

I don't think you'll have any trouble conceiving as you are actually ovulating, you just only do it every 2 to 3 months. I would go to OB/GYN to discuss your concerns and I would read about the Billings Ovulation Method and invest in an ovulation predictor kit. Unlike those who have a regular period, you have a more infrequent window of opportunity to conceive. In order to have a period, you have to ovulate. Women ovulate 11 to 18 days before the start of their period. So you are ovulating just less often.

I hope that helps!!

I've heard of a serious problem which can lead to infertility, and one of the symptoms is irregular periods. But unless you have high levels of testosterone, unlikely.
If you are on the pill, they could be causing you problems.

You didn't say if you have gained weight lately. I would also suggest going to a OB/GYN but also to push for progesterone tests and estrogen. If your levels of progesterone are low then you would have a harder time conceiving plus you might be in the pre stages of pcos. Good Luck

If you exercise too much it can mess with your periods. Birth control pills can regulate them as long as you are not an exercise or athletic freak. Probably a good idea to have a doctor check you out.

You need to get a referral to a specialist to ease your own mind, and to go over all your questions with an expert, who will do the necessary tests and then discuss the results with you,
