Zito is one of the only good players the giants have. A team needs more than one good player to win a pennant. There is no way the giants win the west or the wildcard.

They have a lot of decent young pitchers and if Zito can anchor the staff like he did in Oakland he has a realistic shot at getting them to the post season. Face it the NL West still is the weakest division in the NL. As far as getting a pennant win, don't count on it for a while. Giants offense is old and if there aren't any big free agent signing in the next couple of years their offense will decline fast.

theres no doubt that zito cant help the giants win a pennant.. the question is does he have what it takes to to play in the national league. everyone knows he can pitch! but can he pitch in san fransisco which is a hitters park among a full house . time will only tell im guessing yes he is a strong pitcher that may have the right stuff to get them threw it..

Not as long as Barry "Steroids" Bonds is on the team. He's a self-centered, egotistical s-o-b who only cares about his own numbers and not about helping the team. If Zito happens to be pitching the day that idiot has a good day, then he might win some games. He should have signed with a team that stands a chance of contending.

Not a chance -- all of Zito's key stats have gone lower and lower. Even if you factor in that he won't be facing a DH ... that was paying way too much ... score one for Boras.

No especially if they sign Barry Bonds. It will be too much of a distraction for him to flourish with the team.
