I think one affair might be forgivable... but he had a string of them going back years. That is a blatant lack of respect and indicates he isn't happy in the relationship.

But it shouldn't affect her ability to be President. It just doesn't say a lot to people who are in similar relationships by making them think that type of behavior (on his part) is normal and should be tolerated.

It may be due to the fact that by standing by him the numerous times he stepped out on their marriage vows she showed an ability to overlook any discretion no matter what as long as she got to further her career. Sounds a little maniacal to me.
She was the First Lady - a supposed example for American women and the world.

Are American women that still expect their mate to be faithful - catty?
Are American women that still want their man to keep his pants zipped and his hormones under control - catty?
Personally I don't think so.

How many times has your man stepped out on you? 1? -2? a dozen ? You would ignore it - say it never happened?
Since this is your basis for argument - lets hope when he does "you raise above the catty women and forgive him .

Great question, it's one of my pet peeves. Here's how I think about it. I saw a woman humiliated in front of the entire world. Not for one day, or one month, but for what must have seemed like an eternity to her. She handled herself with grace, self-respect and managed to hold her head high while she was in that incredibly hot spotlight. If she were an ordinary woman, she just might have left him. Or she might have stayed because it was the right thing to do until after he left office - for the sake of the country as well as herself. But neither of those things happened. Hillary Clinton had political aspirations before she ever met Bill. This is a woman who embraced political life with passion and I think even back then she had intentions of sitting in the Oval Office one day. Would a divorced former First Lady ever be elected to the Office of President? Of course not. I think she stayed with Bill as much for her own career as she did for the sake of appearances. And I say bravo if that's the case! Hillary Clinton is intelligent, formidable and has a vision for this country that I can appreciate.

Or Jacqueline with JFK ? i assume you're damned in case you do - and damned in case you do no longer. Had she split with him, her detractors may be railing against her lack of ability to forgive or complicated it out. no remember what she does the dislike Hillary faction will locate motives to dislike her. some human beings do no longer decide for info or reason they only could shop on with their black and white good judgment. the place I stay there continues to be a W decal on the back of each and every third vehicle. I see it as a form or "Scarlet Letter", yet as a replace of A for Adultress we've W for Wanker. i assume they nevertheless have satisfaction in electing the guy who has led us into the mess we at the instant are in. Does it consistently take a Clinton to freshen up a Bush mess ? We could locate out. stable information by using the way. I even have examine Eleanor's biography--- a captivating stunning female - she could have been an excellent president (and now and back replaced into).

The first woman President will have a tremendous amount of pressure and scrutiny on her. I would not want Hillary as the first woman President because she is not a positive example for young girls. She is very strong minded and a successful politician, but how can I tell my daughter to look up to a woman who let her husband cheat on her while the entire country watched, and she stayed with him? How does that show my daughter how she should be treated, when possibly the highest ranking woman in our country allows such a thing in her home?

I think education would be the answer to these people with such a shallowness as to attack Hillary for her looks or how she has chose to run her private life. It is just something that the repuglican hate machine has cooked up to defame her. Here is a link to her web sight, go ask her why she took Bill back after he cheated, it just might surprise you when you get an answer.

I don't condemn her or any other woman-that is completely personal. I'm not sure I would make that decision but really can't understand why we think we can make personal decisions for others. I agree-people are terribly critical of things like hair or dress-and women themselves either critizise themselves or stay silent. If you want to talk about their politics, that's one thing but the rest is silly and gossippy. But I guess that's why entertainment news is more important that real news here in the USA!

Women who are insecure find pleasure in putting down someone else. You're right, how she looks does not have anything to do with her ability to run the country.

I don't! I think that's a purely personal matter between Hillary and Bill. It's not my business at all.
