I'd like to hear from others who still have semi-adults at home attending school or working full/part time. I'm trying to let go but I get the "push and pull" concept from my son. He pushes away and then still tries to hold on. I am getting SO confused! I work f/t and am home in the eves on my own. I do have activities, but I think I'm more concerned about my son's involvment with his girlfriend. There are some issues within her family structure that are bothering me. Any words of wisdom out there? Thank you.

The biggest responsibility of any parent is to teach their children life lessons when they are still children....after that the only way they learn is by trial and error......let him make his own decisions but try to be there when he falls......You dont do them favors by trying to protect them once they are grown

can he afford to move out?

If he's a "semi"-adult, does that mean college years?

I'd give him a couple years to get through it, then give him direction to get out on his own. The gf issues are just part of the growth curve.

He's an adult (by law) so as long as he respects your house rules, his life should be his to lead as he see fit. If he asks your advice or opinion, then give it and be honest...otherwise his choices are his to make, unless they are disrupting your life/house.
