Yeah it is legal to use these programs but the fact is that it is still illegal to download mp3s for free that you do not have the copyright for, unless you own the song.

most file sharing sites are illegal if they re free , well they themselves are not but most of the songs u get from them are , the best ones witch dont give viruses and stuff is mp3 rocket , and bearshare , im afraid if u want it to be legal it costs

there is one... oh i forgot it but it is completly free good songs like u2 and it legal and the songs cant be used on the ipod (yesss one up for mp3 players)
