Yes, but the effects can only be guessed at. The reason for this is that the Earth is a living organism and seems to change its' patterns, always confusing the "so called' experts. I remember during the '70s these same "experts" were predicting an ice age. If you are a Christian, all you need is to remember the message given to Noah, and God's promise. He promised to never kill all the inhabitants of this world again. So the planet is changing, but it will be ok.

Any change has some kind of affect on our planet. In the case of global warming there has been much said about the affects on life on earth. However global warming is not measured by local climate alone, but rather planet wide temperature change. It was pointed in other science articles that if planet wide temperatures were to drop by 3deg. it would have drastic affect for life. To pick a particular city or region and say that the average temperature dropped by 1deg and cite that as global warming is invalid. Even in a time of global warming there can still be hot spots and cooler spots but what we need to look at is the planet wide average temperature. If that drops and remains steady we may be able to say that the planet is warming. Then too, in earths 2.5 billion+ years there has been climate changes from cold to warm back to cooler etc. This is not an argument against global warming or the conseqeunces people have on the planet after all as large as our planet is it is still finite and we could do damage to our atmosphere if we go unchecked and disregard our actions. There was a good documentary on history channel last week about the top 10 threats to our well being and in #1 was radical nations obtaining a-bomb capabilities, we should be more concerned about that since it is quite likely to happen.

Yes, because the largest polar ice cap just broke off Antarctica. If polar ice caps are melting, the fresh/ salt water formula will mess up because ice caps are fresh water. That extra fresh water will throw off the weather systems, and you will get ocean tempuratures dropping, and it could be the beginning of a new ice age. It is our job to try and figure out how to stop this by helping the global warming situation.

It is already changing the way we live in upper MI. When I came here 20 years ago, the snow would be up to the rooftops by Christmas. Upper MI is a wintersports playground and many businesses like restaurants, hotels, ski hills and such depend on the skiers, snowshoers and sledders to come and spend their vacation dollars here. The past five years, we are lucky to have a couple of inches of snow on the ground for Christmas, this year was a brown snowless Christmas. Ski season gets shorter and shorter every year and the dealers can't give the Skidoos, Arctic Cats and Polaris away. These are immediate changes, I fear to think what it will be like 10, 20 and 50 years from now.

Watch the movie " An Inconvenient Truth." It has started affecting us already. The storms in Europe last week, chills in California and a balmy New York etc. Climates are changing globally and water levels are going up. Growing seasons for crops are changing, birds and their migrating patterns getting disrupted. How long do you need to wait? Before the ice cream melts on its way from your hand to your mouth? At this moment there is a ice storm stretching from Texas to Oklahoma. How bout the Japanese Typhoons, record heat in UP, India. Wake up fella.

Yes,it will affect our life.

As a storm arupted and mixed the cold and warm waters of the earth,as well as certain weather patterns that change the climate.

Take last year, and compare it to this year-it was much colder then it is right now, why? Weather patterns and global warming is the answer. It is "melting" the ozone layer around the earth, and when it wares it away completley-guess what? Bye bye earth.

I say we need an ice age right now to stop it from happening.Just stop pollution and all that stuff.

Good thing I won't be around when that happens.Whew.Or will I?? *hides*.

So,yea,it does affect us.

Thanks for asking,I'm happy to help :) .

The only changes we will see is in our pocket books when somebody else has a big idea to do another study on the melting of the polar ice caps. Of course our weather changes, it is the only variable that we have in our lives that isnt constant. In some instances we can change the outcomes in small areas, but it is only discovered by chance and is not predictable.

Duh. Of course.

Already the ocean is significantly less able to support plankton and produce the base of the food chain. If the oceans die, we die. It's that simple.

There is no scientific disagreement regarding global warming. There is only a political disagreement.

If you don't have the mental capacity to understand global warming, then you think it is a load of crap.

If you are of at least average intelligence and are not mentally retarded and passed High School without cheating your way through, then you can understand the language and the dire situation we are all in.
