Actually, with only an undergraduate degree in psychology you don't have many career opportunities that will be very high paying. In general, you really must have at least a masters or doctoral degree in psychology to have a career with substantial responsibilities and the good pay which often follow these responsibilities.

With a bachelor's degree you could work as a mental health technician (pretty much an aid in a hospital) or a research assistant. Such jobs will pay about 30,000.

If you go on to get a masters degree, SOME states will let you be licensed as a therapist as long as your masters degree was received at a school which offers the masters as a terminal degree. Many schools do not offer terminal masters degrees in psychology. The good thing about a masters degree is that it's only 2 years after college and that with the appropriate training you can have the same responsibilities as one with more formal education.

With a PhD or PsyD in psychology you will be able to work as a licensed psychologist or as a university professor or a researcher. In general, this degree will give you the most job opportunities. They are also the highest paying jobs in psychology.

I think i can help you out somewhat. Im majoring in Psychology myself. Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology like my friend above me says wont get a job with a high pay. The least you could do is probably teach at universities or colleges or high schools since you dont want to have anything to do with medical. My best guess to you which by the way is also my intentions is stick it out for another two years to obtain ur masters degree and go into the subfield "Industrial/Organisational Psychology". In my opinion its basically like marketing but much more lucrative and higher paying i would believe. Large organisations would hire you to help them set up there business and seek advice from you as to what would be the best possible way to produce profit.
Which by the way, just to let you know, in the organizational chart, when they do eventually decide to hire you, you'll be higher than all the other employees in the organization and on the same level with BOD (board of directors)

You cannot do much with a bachelors degree in psychology. Within the field, a Masters degree to the minimum to start counseling and making some decent money.

With a masters - and this varies from state to state- you can do counseling under the supervision of someone with a PhD. I know that in Massachusetts you start at about 40K and then can go up to about 60K.

With a PhD you can do alot more, and you make more money. Youcan do counseling, testing, consultation, supervision, etc. You start a about 60K and can go up to 100K.

the thanks to respond to this question is to get thoughts from those faculties: what do the BA human beings do after commencement? What do the BS human beings do after commencement? What forms of jobs do each and each get? reckoning on this technique the BA would properly be gained through employers in a way reminiscent of the BS from yet another college. Asking your faculties would help you pick which to bypass to, and it will make sparkling what each and each college ability through that degree. both faculties must have some advisors or directors of undergraduate analyze that you'll be able to ask those questions. Asking them right away grant you with the most precise thoughts on your faculties, and it is going to get rid of any generalized solutions or bias from Yahoos on line. My perfect suggestion: ask the experts. good success!
