My friend wants to send me some of his songs, but he only has them on ITunes I guess he deleted them off his hard drive. Is there any way to take the songs of ITunes though, or is he stuck?..I'm thinking there's no way to take them off once you've deleted them off your hard drive but I thought I'd come here for answers first to make sure.

If they aren't on the hard drive then iTunes can't play them. If you can play them through iTunes they are still there.

To take the "title" out of iTunes you need to delete it. If you just delete the file using explorer or something, iTunes doesn't know if the song is gone or moved. You can point iTunes to the new location via the "get info" option when you highlight a song.

If an exclamation mark appears to the left of the song in iTunes that is telling you that iTunes can't find the file.

If he deleted songs off his hard drive, I'm pretty sure you can't play them on iTunes (or any player for that matter) If he can still play them on iTunes, I believe he didn't really delete them off his hard drive.

If they're off your hard drive, then itunes won't even play them. Sounds like he's stuck.
