actually Internacional Sport Club defeated FC Barcelona 1-0 last month in the 2006 FIFA Club World Cup, so you may proclaim that they are the best team in the world.

Of course they are... This tournament is there to bring up all the club champions from all the continents to prove who is then the best and Sao Paulo has done it, so they are the world champion.
I know European teams don't really give much importance to it but to beat a team like Barcelona even if they did not take it seriously means a lot.

regardless of who beat barcelona that wouldnt automatically mean there the best team in the world because on their day any team can beat another.
Jst like Italy, regarding the world cup, the winners of the club world championship (or whatever its called) can proudly say they are the champions but they cannot say they are the best in the world. I mean chances are that if the same games got played 10 times would italy and internacional (??) still be overall champions, i think not

No, if that was the case then there would be a new best team in the world all the time as they get beaten in their own domestic leagues.
A cup is a cup, a league is where the cream rises to the top, now if there was a World Superleague and they won that, then you'd say they were the best.

Sao paoulo won it in 2005 and Internacinal won it in 2006 , but none of these are a patch on the best European sides like Barcelona, Man United , Liverpool , Chelsea, Real Madrid , Etc......
