My mobile phone contract is up for renewal soon with Orange. Currently I get 200 minutes and 500 texts for £35 a month. I have seen with Virgin Mobile, they are offering 300 minutes and 300 texts for £25. I need about 300 minutes and about 150 texts a month. Should I move to Virgin Mobile or shall I ask Orange for a better deal. Or does anyone know if there are better deals out there.

Thanks!

go hustle
the networks are desparate for your business.

have a clear idea in your mind what you actaully need, I note you've done that, but make sure your estiamtes are right

then go to the shops and start gettign them to see if they can met your requirements. Then ID go to an Orange Shop see what they can do (if you've got a decent offer form eslewhere offer that to Orange and get them to see if they can match it. If not then try to contact Orange Customer services.. they often can make a better deal that the shops.

Personally I wouldnt trust Virgin Mobile.. they are a franchise operation.. they dont actually have any netwrokl infrastructer (I think the use TMobile as their network provider) But they may be OK.. if you go down that route consider others Tesco?

One thing to bear in mind is if you swtich then you need togive a months notice (ie you will loose a month if you transfer)... you can get round that by requesting a PAC say around 2..3 weeks before actasully changing. If you ring up Orange for a PAC thay will normally try to keep the account... so cut your deal then if you want.. lie a bit (they are not mugs, but you can get away with a heck of a lot.

consider say going to Vodafone (who seeem to be more desparate than others) and get a quoite from them and then go back to orange and say Voda will do X for £per month, eithe rmatch it or Im off [obviously use more pleasant language than that.. Ive been offered x, can ou match that....)

I am with Orange and have been for nearly 9 years. Ring them and tell them you wish to leave and I am sure they will match or better anything you can fine. I currently have 2550 mins any time any network and unlimited text for only £25.00

I would recommend O2 but check websites for all of the providers for their coverage in your area.
