That dreaded ship beached just where I spend most of my summer outdoor time!
Any scientists here who can reassure me on the outcome of this tragedy? Also tell me of the repercussions in worst case scenario, I need to know, thanks!

Oh I do watch the news, of course, and get the latest updates from the internet which my fiance relates to me; but I am very aware that the media aren't always able to get the information in full (cover ups) and when they do, they may not be at liberty to divulge it... I am no credulous bystander and I was hoping that some well-informed brains out here would be able to give me suitable answers... Never mind.

Your beach dear? I think the whole world belongs to you two just now. Do not worry I am sure things will be alright though it does seem like a big job we have to be thankful no lives were lost.

we have company too.

All marine life dies, all birds covered in oil and die, beach is turned black all the tourists fail to turn up. Stench of crude oil and decomposing birds in the air for months. To cap it all house prices drop by 30 to 40% leaving you in negative equity and trapped for the rest of your life in that stinking hole......

Otherwise nothing to worry about!
