I am going to be buying a "Uniden 2.4GHz Digital Expandable Phone Combo" very soon and I know that in the not so distant future I will be switching to a wireless network in the house. I am worried that there will be a large amount of interference? I know I will be using a linksys router, most likely a "RT54GL IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless-G Broadband Router". Will these two be compatible?

the answer is yes it can if you are using a 2.4ghz phone. This is the same frequency as your wireless router. It probably will not be noticed unless you have a lot of other things interferring such as satelitte dishes. Yes they can interfer also. Some remote controls. They can also. Plus if you have a lot of other wireless in the area. It can cause problems. But if you do not have major issues and really no other networks around then you wouldn't really notice a phone doing anything to it.
On rare and I do mean rare the 5.8 ghz can affect it also. But that is rare.
The linksys router is fairly easy to use. Pretty much plug and play. I doubt you will have many issues. But you can email me if you do and I will be happy to walk you through.

Most cordless phones use the same 2.4 Ghz frequency as your Wi-Fi network so you can get interference. I bought a cordless phone that runs on the 5.8 Ghz frequency because of this and I have no issues. Try plugging the phone base as far away from the wireless router as possible, this may help with the connection issue.

I just re-read your question. So if you saw my last post, please ignore it. My bad!

2.4 GHz phones use the same frequency that wireless networks use and it's very likely that you will have interference. I had to junk my old 2.4 GHz phone system when I installed my wireless network.

Get a 5.8 GHz phone system instead. Those are compatible with wireless networks as they use a very different frequency.

If the linksys operates at the same bandwidth (2.4gh) as many do you may encounter some interference. seems if you play with location of router you can get around it though.

We have 2.4 g phones. We had a Linksys router. Now we have a Belkin router. Haven't had any problems.

Wi-Fi can be interrupted by other devices, notably 2.4 GHz cordless phones and microwave ovens.
