Everybody is just like us from scientists, actors, doctors etc in the sense that we all go to the bathroom the same way, or we eat the same way, or we sleep the same way etc...but people with titles hold a high respectability.
To earn titles you have to go through a lot and know a lot. Not any one can handle being a king, queen, princess or prince etc.
They are very educated people, knowledgeable people and have lots of restrictions we don't have.
Why is Christopher Columbus or George Washington still remembered and respected?
All because of history and respect for what they did for our country.
I don't think they look down upon us, take Lady Di for instance she was an example of someone who handle so much more than the rest of us could ever do.
At one time it was Kings and Queens who ruled the lands, governments were not established.

Regardless of whether rulers were good people or smart or talented, kings, queens, emperors, sultans, popes, etc have been major factors in determining the direction of human history.
A good example is Henry VIII of England. He was a proud, vain, cruel, hypocritical, intolerant, warmongering, womanizing wife murderer. He was every bit as bad as Saddam Hussein. Yet from his own time until the present day people have been fascinated with him. He has been the subject of countless books and movies portraying him as being in every way larger than life. Why? Because he ruled at a pivotal period in Western history and his actions, however dubious their motives were, had a tremendous impact on the course of history. Had Henry never ruled the world would be a very different place today.

Kings and Queens are not just like us. We believe that now but for most of human history, the fact that they were born into royal families was evidence of God's intention that they rule. They must be better, or they wouldn't have been born royal.
Even now, they represent a secret desire most of us have, to be special, different, not just like everyone else. The cult of celebrity is a continuance of this. There are some seriously untalented people that the media follows like they are royalty and I have never seen the media give celebrity attention to people like scientists, doctors, etc. unless they do something really horrible.

Well.. they're NOT like you.. sorry.. and no offence..
How do I know.. well.. I know of people from European royalty.. who have since WW2 been forced to live among the commoners.. and believe me.. there is a massive difference..
The ex-royals.. display an incredible degree of alertness, awareness, insight and more importantly tend to have a strong fighting nationalistic spirit often bereft in society these days..
Unless royal.. these people would suffer trying to fit in with society.. and the unique insights and wisdom they possess is rare and highly prized.. the history of many royal familys alone.. often defines a nations true history.. this alone provides all royal family members with instant acces to true history.. unlike most of us who get into bar room brawls speculating..
I kinda respect ancient royalty..

because they represent their country. a few hundred years ago, the strongest of a trible was the head (king) so their blood line goes back hundreds of years.
today they are just a figure head, not much power.
