NO!!!
It is akin to defeat and surrender....The deaths of those 3000+ Heros will have been in vain....No Honor in defeat....
The Iraqi People will have been deserted in their time of need....

Ask the Military members, their opinion.....They may not completely approve of the politics, but they unanimously approve of the mission.

Carry On!!! Semper Fi!!!!

We want our cake and also to eat it . Strange that we all want the war to end but just how to do this is at the heart of the debate these days . China could end it in a matter of weeks .2 million men could secure the streets and commerce and weed out the terrorists ..
Cost the average China man earns less then 2000 a year . So we hire China to mop up the war effort ,clear the streets and restore order .
Anything short of 2 million troops is inadequate for the job at hand .
Its like cutting a foot ball field with a pair of scissors ,yes it can be done but you will never finish .
Is this the kind of effort we should be putting forth .

I would not. I have a good friend who was recently station on the Iraq and Kuwait border. We're not seeing the whole picture. There is still unrest there. The Iraqi people haven't yet stepped up to the plate to rule the country. If we were to just immediatly withdraw, the control of that land, the people, and all those oil reserves would surly fall into the control of some very bad people would would love to do some very bad things to the US and all they need is a financial foundation such as the oil reserves to do so.

I think US troops should begin a gradual planned pull out immediately. I think other countries of the United Nations need to get their crap together and get peace keeping forces in there NOW. Not liking Bush is NOT a good enough reason not to do so. In fact, I think they should do in spite of Bush and whether he wants it or not.

I think the borders of Iraq need to be protected by all possible means to keep any other insurgent groups from bringing in people and arms and this is where our remaining troops should be posted. I think we need to quit worrying about their oil.

Hell NO. Would be a fine idea, that is, if you wanted all the terrorist on our front porch. Pull the troops out and that's just where they will be. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a few of the terrorist spend some week-ends with a few Liberals. How long before they started screaming for the Military to save them?

No, it would be disastrous for the US and western civilization.... If we let Iraq go, Islam extremists would get a major green light for terrorism against the west. Iran, Iraq, Syria would develop closer ties and promote more terrorist training camps and terror export around the world. A great drive against the America would be unleashed resulting in terrorist events in the US and hundreds of thousands of deaths. Additionally, there would be millions of deaths in Iraq in the ensuing civil war. Viet Nam is a good example where two million Cambodians were killed right after the US military pull out.

Also, take out the word terrorism because its an emotional word and look at whats really happening. It is really "Mass Murder." This is really a battle between people who think very differently from one another. Western culture believes in freedom and have structured societies based on laws and law abiding people. If injustice or murder occurs, there are laws to help protect society. In Muslim countries where most of the mass murderers are harbored, the societies are not free, there is strong religious fanaticism and hatred of western culture because they are non-believers in Islam, or "infidels." This is the battle front and more wars will be fought to preserve the west.

No. We would be leaving a country without a millitary undefended and their neighbor with whom they were at war for 10 years has the strongest military in the middle east. And the second most powerful army in the middle wast is another neighbor who would want their oil fields.

It would create a huge vacuum and no matter who won the US would be at fault.

However, the US should tell the UN that we will be deducting the cost of the Iraq war from what we pay them every year unless they decide to send in UN peacekeepers to provide border security. We pay 25% of the UN's operating budget, it's time to get something back for our investment.

I asked my fiance the same question, he's in Iraq...His answer was no....they need to get the job done...or it would all be for nothing...He's in a hospital bed right now..injured by an IED....the thing is I believe he would say the same thing now as he did before...Get the job done...so we don't have to go back.....

no. a phased withdrawal, but not over 5 years. US invasion created instability,it is our obligation to fix,by whatever means. stability is needed, a change of plans is needed. one very real solution is involvement of arab countries in creating stability. we can't do it alone,it's obvious.

edit. the UN has took the stance they have for a reason. the US took it upon itself to enforce a UN resolution against UNs advice. armitage was getting cooperation from syria in securing borders and syria turned over iraq fugitives. he was ordered to stop.

Absolutely not. Even the Democrats in Congress are this awake.

And we cannot leave Iraq wide open to Iran and Hezbollah, that's why not.

Wake up.
