Put something hot on the wood and wipe immediately. Be careful not to burn the wood.

Start with an ice cube. The wax will become brittle and will chip off fairly easily, you can use a plastic knife or flexible paint knife. If you have any wax residue left, apply a CLEAN towel over the wax and gently warm with an iron. Wipe up the wax as is softens.

Use a solution of TSP (tri-sodium phosphate) and water. This is really the best product to clean with. You should be able to get it at any hardware store or Home Depot or Lowe's. Read and follow the directions and use gloves and eye protection as the TSP will burn your skin and eyes. Good luck

put a slightly damp cloth over the wax and apply a hot iron over the cloth, heat will melt the wax and it will stick to the cloth.

Either hold a scraper flat againt the surface, and move it under it slowly, as not to scratch it, or you could use your nail.
