Have had more dead fish shakes than firm - think some people are just more aware of what they are doing and would take skincrawling dead fish any day over the knuckle-grinding grip of some who want to show just how sincere (or surely macho) they are - now that I've some arthritis in hands it is not at ALL impressive!

Quite often. Most of the people I associate with are strong, confident people who know how to shake hands. My doctor has one of those "dead fish" handshakes, so now I try to avoid shaking hands with him.
Not too long ago I met a guy who shook my hand so hard I think I heard it crack. I literally had to go home, take Tylenol and ice my hand for a while. I gave him some good natured ribbing about it the next few times I saw him. Now he's much gentler when he shakes hands with us ladies.

Not very often, most women give you limp fish, and most men act like you might break. Most people are surprised when I shake their hand firmly. I don't try to break fingers tho.
Wonder if "mood" and I had the same teacher, I had one that told me a limp handshake indicated a lack of confidence.

Not too often....men seem to think that women don't give firm handshakes and that has always seemed strange to me. A teacher of mine taught me years ago that I should always have a firm handshake.

Oooh, I hate the little wimpy handshakes. Most men give a decent handshake to a woman if she extends her hand like she's not a noodle. Some men over-do it.....my son's orthodontist, for instance. Ouch.

Not very often..and i hate those limp hand shakes..it is almost as if the other person is saying..YAH RITE, Whatever." I find it very displeasing. A good hearty handshakes says good things about the person. Just my idea.

Nearly every handshake I've had has been a firm one by both parties.

Just the other night.
It seems to be a daily habit that I can't quite shake.
