Cut glass has been around for a very long time so it really takes an expert to tell all about it but there is a quick way to tell real cut glass from molded glass that looks like cut glass.

When glass is cut it makes a smooth planar cut that still has a ground look that is different than fresh glass. also when glass is molded it might be flat when hot but as the glass cools it shrinks differently and keeps the result from being flat so the result is more like fresh glass, but the face is slightly concave,
