If you are using Explorer 7 it seems to be a common problem, try using another browser.

Could be due to lack of virtual memory? How many programs are you running at once? Close some down. Also, check you dont have too many processes running in the background. To check, press Ctrl Alt and Del all at once. Then in the corner it says how many processes are running, normal is below 60 processes. Hope this helps =]

also try cleaning out all the junk files on your pc with CCleaner - it's free here
http://www.ccleaner.com
check the box for index.dat files - these will cleaned when you reboot your pc
