Our beloved dog we thought was lost over 3 months ago and I just found out that my upstairs neighbor's daughter gave him to a friend of hers. How do I approach my neighbor her mother about this. We aren't close but we are civil to one another becuse we share the house. I'm upset as well as my children whom her daughter gives a ride to school to my older daughter. It's just how can you look your neighbor in the face when you know they are looking for their dog in all the time you knew where their dog was in the first place?

Well I think your being a lot better about this then I would be.First of all I would go straight there and demand the dog back.Who knows maybe she doesn't know what her daughter did.I would do everything possible to get the dog back even if it involves the police. That is stealing n if u can prove the dog is your I would go for it.U have done nothing wrong go to her and be civil at first as long as she doesn't give u a hard time and if she does call the police. In fact call them first n find out what your options r so u r prepared with a backup plan.Well I hope that helps and have a great wkend. If u can plz get back to me and let me know if u guys get the poor dog back for your child.

I would have to think you could simply ask why they took the dog in the first place. Tell them you know what happened and you'd like an explanation before you call the authorities and have them charged with theft. Once they know you aren't in the dark about the whole issue, they'll fess up. If you know where the dog is, go get him/her, explain he was stolen from you, and if the police become involved, better for you. So, that threat from the new owners won't work. See, you have nothing to lose. Just a loved one to gain back! Start walking!

Dang man! Grow some and find your dog. You already know who gave it away. Tell them to go get the dog back now or have them arrested for stealing. Doesn't sound so beloved to me. If someone tried to take one of my dogs we'd be fist fighting first thing! But my dogs don't like no one so I don't really have to worry about it. Every one who knows me knows you don't F with my animals!

first, i hope that you went and got your dog? i have a terrible temper so i would have been very mad and probably yelled quite a bit. ---You should not do that though (it has gotten me into a lot of trouble over the years)--you might take into consideration that the mother may not know what the girl did.
tape a note to her door--let her know that you DO know what the child did and you consider this to be a very offensive act. you also might consider asking her to keep her daughter away from your pet in the future.
