Please give percentages, as I know very little about watts and volts.

That really depends on the manufacture and if everything is sleeping or if certain devices are still in full operation. If everything is completely sleeping then it would be safe to guess that you are requiring only 5%-10% of the energy demands if that same computer was fully functional. The exact amount can only be figured out with research of each components energy requirements. (examples -CPU tower-monitor-speakers-printer) You could get an exact measurement if you used an amp meter and took the readings while the computer was fully functional and took the readings when everything was sleeping but I think you were more interested in an estimate then an actual amount..;)

it varies between systems
but as a rule 2 watts compared with 100 watts

Depends on the computer, so no actual percentage can be given. With that said, you are looking at MINIMAL draw of power.
