how do i put music files in a data format on a dvd?

Assuming you already have a DVD burner
and the software you need to burn
such as Nero (my favorite)
or Cyberlink

in Windows XP
RIGHT click the file you want to burn to DVD
and it will be sent to a temporary file for that purpose.
A submenu will pop up lower right on your monitor
click it
At the window that opens in the right panel
select the write to DVD option.

When your software opens next
then you will select the BURNING option DATA DVD
and then follow the prompts.

You can also use the DATA option for movies and all other. I like it because it covers more than one media.

well when i put music files on a data dvd i just burn them the way they are and If u something like i have where it shows the data menu on it it turns out to be mp3s and plays just like as u were putting on videos and it turns out to be Mpeg-4 so just do it that way but whatever software your using for the format if theres an option that lets do data just press data dvd then whatever ur trying to burn on the data then burn
