Cheap? Ok man Ebay it search for Apple althoguh i dont think they come cheap but if you can buy it, its will be the best investment else go to buy HP but its low on features and SONY good but the cheap ones are heavy. Dont ever go for Dell. Unless you enjoy calling them up and sending your machine all the time. Get a Macbook but it will come over 1200..but has all the decent features of high end notebooks.

best never comes along with cheap...
if you need powerful and colorful.. buy a Macbook pro
bulkier and strong with best support : dell inspiron series
hp and compaq -- always smart but low on features
lenovo -- best of 2006 THINKPAD series
sony vaio -- very sleek , lighter , best , long life and looks
but costs more than lenovo
so for you... buy a DELL notebook -- but with
p4 core duo , and ATI mobility radeon graphics and 1bg ram atleast

Go to Dell website and get a refurbished laptop. They're better than non-refurbished and much cheaper.
