Looking to install a DVD R in Computer, which type do I install?

I have been looking at DVD r to install in my computer for about $50 I can buy a DVD R with all the + - , but for $70 I can buy the same but also does DVDRam. Which way should I go and why? Thank you inadvance.

Whatever you do, make sure you buy a burner that will burn all of todays file formats! You might spend a few more dollars but you will be glad you did!

Go newegg.com!! That sounds like Wal-Mart prices to me. Assuming you are going IDE (if you aren't sure you probably are) It isn't necessarily about + and - and RAM, but more about the numbers before them. A 32x DVD+r with 5x DVD-RAM for example probably isnt faster than a 52x DVD+r. On Newegg you can get nice burners for next to nothing.

I bought a Lite-On SHW-160P6S04C for $50, should be cheaper now
High speeds, does all DVD and CD read and write and does double layer DVD's.
You just plug it in like any IDE drive (like your hard drives)

buy the best. spend a little more but in the end it will be worth it. as they say. look after your pennies and the pounds will look after them selves.
