Whatever you do do not use very hot water it will crack the glass. Is the glass dull or dirty? Maybe there is a film or something on it? Glass is usually easy to clean but If doesnt get better open you windows use a mix of 1 part ammonia to 3 parts water very strong fumes so try not to breathe!! :} Wipe it on and let sit a couple of min. then just wipe it down and should be good as new!!

The glass may not be dirty but etched. Depending on how old the glass is and what its been through it could be tiny scratches and/or water deposits that have built up on it (like what happens to your glasses over time in the dishwasher). a quick way to test is by scratching an area with a fingernail to see if you can clear it. You may need to tackle it with a scouring pad, vinegar/hot water solution and a whole lot of elbow grease if it's from built up water deposits. If its etched there's nothing you can do to salvage it unfortunately.

Try an Ammonia/water solution and newspaper to clean. It doesn't leave streaks either. Work great on house windows and auto glass also.

Sometimes plain water works better than anything else and wipe off with paper towels

Actually, the hand cleaner product "Gunk" works well on cloudy glass. Just rub it in, leave it on for a few minutes, then rub off with a paper towel.

when its been a while since I cleaned my table I take it off and wash it like I wash my dishes. I use Dawn dish washing detergent and dry with paper towels. It works wonders.
