even if its 'okay' for college, what about an Ivy? would that be stretching it?

I am an Assistant Director of Admissions at a large university, and your grades look pretty good. Keep in mind that most schools look at your overall GPA, not just one trimester. We also look at the subjects that are more closely related to your choice of major, your SAT/ACT scores, activities, etc. Don't get down about one term...you have plenty of time to get your grades up to where you'd like them to be!! Good luck!!!

No, you have not ruined your chances at colleges with those grades. Admission policies differ from college to college. Some colleges put a larger emphasis on GPA and test scores (Ivy League) than do some state schools. The colleges and universities look at the overall picture when it comes to admission including grades and SAT scores. They also look at the difficulty of the classes, school activities, volunteer work, hobbies, and community involvement. The application essay can make a great impression, too. However, I do recommend keeping your GPA up around it or even a little better because some colleges do give out merrit based scholarships (even a small one) based on grades and SAT/ACT scores. Good luck!

Uh....I think you're worrying TOO MUCH.
First of all, those are VERY GOOD grades. You should try to keep A's and B's throughout highschool...never dip to a C.
Next, you haven't ruined your future already because colleges don't really look at your freshman year. Your junior year is when you have to excel.
An A- average would definitely look better, but you shouldn't be concerned now.
Just keep in mind, those are really GOOD grades...keep up the good work!

Those grades aren't bad at all, especially the B in the Honors class. Those are designed to be harder, so don't sweat it if you don't get a higher grade. And as far as what years matter on your transcripts, well, it all depends on the college or university. Keep pushing at it, and try to bring your grades up to increase your GPA and therefore your likelihood of getting accepted to your school of choice and possibly getting a scholarship offered. Don't slump your senior year, and don't throw everything off until then. It's hardest to bring a 2.0 GPA up with only your senior year left. Keep going at it, and you'll have what you want.

Your grades are fine to get you into college, just keep getting at least two As a semester and everytime you improve a semester, you improve your overall score. Don't sweat the GPA, just try to actually learn all that you can.

you call those bad grades
from a freshman to freshman, those are really good grades. i get the same things and i get to go to the renasants breckfasts that are for honer roll and honers students. i wouldn't sweat it. yes it effects your gpa and yes colleges look at them but they are good greads. no, you haven't ruined your future at all. those are really good grades. especially your honers class. i have a honer class and i get B's all the time
my advice is to keep up the good work.if your school goes higher than A+ then those grades are really good.
