I have this problem too especially because I am an athlete. There are only a few things to help keep a shirt from getting this yellow color. I have tried using oxi-clean and it helps a little bit. But what is important is to wash the shirt before the "pit stain" dries and use warm water. If it dries the deodorant sets and it becomes harder and harder to get out as you wear it. Other than those two things the last solution is to just suck it up and get rid of it. Unfortunately, I have a huge issue with getting rid of my shirts so sometimes I just cut off the sleeve and I have got myself a new tank top. Hope it helps!

Do not know if this works but read an article from "REAL SIMPLE Life Made Easier" that you can use baby wipes to remove the deodorant if you just got it on your clothing and the other solution for the stains is to pre-treat the garment as soon as you take it off and wash it in the hottest temp allowed for the garment with an enzyme detergent and an oxygen bleach. Another place that I found having a more detailed and long list of remedies to try is on Mrscleannw.com. Hopefully one of these solutions will work for you.

Whether they can be removed depends on if you've tried to remove them before and how old the stains are.
Have you washed and dryed them before attempting to remove the stains? Usually with oil/protien based stains (like sweat and blood) once you've put them through the dryer the stains are set in the fabric and won't come out. You can try soaking the shirts in a white vinegar/ water solution before laundering, or take the shirts to a dry cleaner who will have stronger specialized products to use on the stains. Unfortunately bad perspiration stains don't usually turn yellow till after you've washed and dried them, which means they're set-in and they won't come out.

I remember that my dad always used to mix some lemon juice with water, put it in a spray bottle, and spray it on his shirts a few minutes before washing. You could try that.

There are also some really good tips at the martha stewart website, including using shampoo and digestive enzymes.
