I really thought we were rid of it when the NHL players thought they were a real sport and wanted real sport money. They caved though and we still have it.....so when will the final game be played in America?

You should be a stand-up comedian.

They stretch reality for punchlines.

If the disparity of values between the Canadian and American dollars continues to grow, and the players get heftier contracts, and the cost of operating teams increases, you will see the day when there are two Canadian franchises left.

The Leafs and Habs will outlast the Canucks, Flames, Oilers, and Senators because they will be able to offset the costs of operating under the Canadian dollar, while the owners of the other teams will either sell or move the teams where they can turn a profit.

You can forget about any new teams in the near future for Canada. I agree that there are too many teams, too many of them in non-traditional hockey markets, and the worst officiating in sports.

I don't like your type of nationalism, but I won't sit idly by while you put down America. You should do some research before you exercise your right to look like an idiot.

America is really coming along in hockey. There are a lot of young American hockey players that are now coming into the league. There are also HUGE hockey towns in American (i.e Philly, Detroit) and their fans would die without hockey. I think hockey in the states will live on for a long time.

Hold on a second, Canuck. American Hockey is alive and well. Just look at the college system. Agreed, the NHL has overexpanded and moved into such great bastions of hockey like Nashville, Anaheim and Atlanta (There's a reason why the Flames left in the first place, suckers) but American hockey is alive, well and kicking.

Let me guess you are a soccer fan and you are upset that Hockey is more popular by viewership? Then you get embarrassed because you see how few people watch hockey on TV and realize that means basically no one watches soccer. Seriously though what do you have against the NHL?

It will exist long after MLS and the WNBA, that's for sure. I'm surprised that American soccer hasn't gone away yet, and the WNBA's fold is about to begin with their first franchise closing up shop.

I think people will even be sick of baseball before hockey dies. Possibly the NFL even, and the NBA, yeah, that's a fad.

why call it the World series when there only american teams, just to fell good about your self anyways you guys don't even dominate the sport of baseball anymore. golf, tennis, even Darts are more popular in europe then all american sports like baseball, basketball and even american football. football (soccer) is the number one sport played in the world and you no whats the 2nd most played sport in the world is yes hockey, more registered hockey players in the world then american football, baseball, basketball put toghether. we know its a hard game for most of you americans to understand and thats why you keep putting hockey down, but this athletes are very competitive and are a 100 times in better shape then your pussy sports. theres only like 18% american born players playing in the NHL and another reason most you americans don't like hockey is cause you don't dominate the sport of hockey. in U.S sports is more about the money then the love of the game and thats one thing you'll never understand about us Canadians and our hockey. if you don't like it then don't watch it. if a team in the U.S wins the Stanley cup most of you think its the U.S that won the cup but if you look at the rosters almost 80% are Canadians. i watch american football thats it but its not even close to the compitiotion you see on the ice 5 nights a week when your team plays to football 1 night a week.

here ill give you one interesting fact ok.
When taken on a percentage basis, i.e.: championships won versus the years that a particular sport's championship has been available for competition; as of the end of 2006, the Canadiens are the most historically successful major pro sports team in North America, having won 27.3% of all NHL Stanley Cup championships. The Boston Celtics of the NBA are in second place with a 26.7% figure, with the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball in third place at 25.2%.

Never you ******. Without the US there would be no NHL, which is the greatest hockey league in the world. An all Canadian professional league like the NHL would fail.
