I wish someone would do a study on how many teachers and school administrators were killed in a year...I'd bet more teachers were killed in the line of duty than police officers.
Funny that teacher's, policemen and firemen all make low-middle income wages and all work rather dangerous jobs. I'm thinking its about time to list teachers up there with those in hazardous duty.
Incidently, 75 is very low nation wide when you consider how many people are killed in car accidents, plane accidents and cancer throughout they year. Thousands and Thousands! 75 is almost none!!! Press coverage makes it seem like millions.

There were 142 police officers killed in the line of duty in 2006.
There were 4 females and 138 males.
Even one killed damages the community they served, and devastates the family that they leave behind.

No. Ironically, the criminal defense attorney job is very safe.
The divorce attorney job is one of the most dangerous in the country.
Criminal clients are bad people on their best behavior, and divorce clients are good people on their worst.

I think the point here is that law enforcement doesn't make the top ten dangerous jobs, although I believe that's what the majority thinks.
