If women were truly considered equals there would be no need for it. It seems rather condescending to me.

Its not just this forum, most major Universities have 'women's studies' which I think degrades women. What do you think?

if intentionally or not a segment of any population were being overlooked, doesn't it make sense to place a spotlight on them and their accomplishments?

Not just gender or ethnicity... if you were a crucial participant but never team leader on a series of projects, none of which would have been nearly as successful without you, don't you deserve recognition as well?

Are Women's Studies another veiled form of male-dominated sexism? No. Male-dominated sexism would have something like "Men's Studies"!
