Did you feel triumphant, confident, utterly certain that victory was near? Or did you feel disheartened, upset, deeply unhappy, knowing that it would only lead to disaster?

Did you turn out to be right, like the liberals, or did you turn out to be wrong, like the rightwingers?

Actually, 126 Democrats in the House and 21 Democrats in the Senate voted against the lie-based Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002:

Only SIX REPUBLICANS in the House and ONE Republican in the Senate voted against the LIE-BASED QUAGMIRE.

So, the notion peddled by rightwingers that Democrats SHARE RESPONSIBILITY because a MINORITY OF DEMOCRATS BELIEVED THE LIES ABOUT WMD, is patently RIDICULOUS.

I remember thinking it was a mistake. I also kept wondering - where is the evidence that Iraq was involved in 9/11? It just seemed to me that Bush had already made up his mind to invade and was just saying anything to justify it.

First of all, I was neither of the feelings you described. I knew that it was going to be a long conflict, but, I also knew we were doing it for the right reasons. Saddam was shutting out the UN inspectors and we did find remnants of WMD materials. We have liberated a country from a cruel dictator. We still have some more work to do to assist the new government in stabalizing the country so that the few remaining Saddam loyalists don't create a civil war. All I can say is that I'm much prouder as an American now than I was eight years ago.

Bush lied Clinton lied Kerry lied before he told the truth. Hillary lied. Most of the senate and house lied. The CIA lied. The FBI lied.

Bill Clinton actually made regime change in Iraq US Policy.

It was a good move and congress voted on the war. And "liberals" even voted for the war but blame Bush for "making" them vote for it. Again no personal responsibility from the left.

Filled with dread and saddened. Increasingly so over the last four years. Eye rolling has progressed to head shaking. Confused, dismayed, enraged, worried. Not one positive emotion. All issues beyond party politics. Wish their was some sanity somewhere. Will settle for common sense.

I was UPSET!!!

I had to watch the war from Eagle Base, Bosnia-Herzegovina instead of fight with my brethren invading Iraq.

I have my chance, now, though and I'm PROUD to be here.

All you quitters who CHOOSE to lose can crawl back into your holes and let the men and women who WANT TO WIN do the job.

Bush was clearly an accident looking for a place to happen from the beginning of his run for president. He proved my worst fears.
