I am very happy. Hillary is in. Live chats with her starting Monday. She got 41 percent support from Democrats. Well ahead of Sen, Barack Obama at 17 percent of Democrats. Also well ahead of Sen. John Edwards at 11 percent of Democrats. Washington Post/ABC news poll just out.
She has the money and the power to win and with a Clinton/Edwards ticket that will give Democrats 8 years in control of the White House. Democrats will need far more time than 8 years to fix all the harm done to America by Republicans.

In 2000 Gore got 50,996,116 votes. Bush only got 50,456,169 votes. Gore won, fence-sitters were not the big problem then.

I live in one of the most liberal states in the country, and yet I hear from a lot of people who don't like Hillary and would never vote for her. I am a Democrat, and I want Democrats in charge, but I am still not convinced that Hillary is (a) electable and (b) capable of being a very good President.

I want their to be an open field and for all the potential candidates to have an opportunity to prove themselves, so we can really pick the candidate who is most likely to be elected AND the best leader.

In any case, it *would* be pretty awesome to have Bill Clinton back in the White House, if for no other reason than to watch so many rightwingers burst blood vessels in their brains from apoplexy!

Hillary/Edwards won't work. They might be better than Bush, but so's my kitten at this point. They won't be able to attract fence-sitters nearly as well as a new face brimming with ridiculous ideas like noninterventionist foreign policy, a saner drug policy, more focus on the economy here at home, revamping the space program, reworking education, and who knows what else..

And yes, I'm happy. The War on Drugs failed just like Prohibition *cough cough* :)

I am content. Nothing to do with politics, however.

Happy people are either living in absolute ignorance-ful bliss or are delusional.
