Did anyone work and travel?

Im going to england this summer , but i have a few questions to people who did work and travel or a gap year. Where did you live do you shared a house or lived on your own ? Wich country did you visited.. and when did you took your gap year? right after school... and what kind of jobs did you get? Thank you..

I nannied- hence I didn't need any accomodation of my own, I worked in America and went through Au pair USA.
You can get a gap year book from your local bookshop with heaps of ideas for all different countries.
