Yes, we all disappear into our own spaces online, but does this mean that we communicate less with the outside world? When we were kids, were we any more communicative with other people than we are now?

My daughter never talked to me more when she wanted an Ipod. I was the greatest dad ever when I bought her an Ipod.

I can't wait for the next popular technolgy to come so my daughter will start talking to me again.

If you live far away from your family then yes technology definately helps you to stay in contact easier.I think the internet gives more access to the outside world as you have better information available to you.
In some ways it makes us lazy , as its much easier to search on the net instead of going out and finding out info for ourselves. No i dont think we communicate less with the outside world. definately more as we can communicate with all over the world now.

Not really. Cameras let us take pics of people we love. Cell phones communication. IM as well. Game systems chatting with people. So nahh.

depends on interest which people get together. if everyone in your families are geek, its a sure thing. but i don't think there's a family of geeks. its just not healthy and not gonna last
