A year, alone, no humans to bother me? Just me, myself and Irene? (That's Mother Natures first name, by the way lol). Sign me up. The question is rather open. And secluded is different than deserted. Maybe a year long trek in the Amazon? A tropical island might be the easiest to survive on. If you had a machete, hammock, and a mattock you could do quite well. Throw in a personal knife such as a bayonet, too. Although the style of knife most often used by indigenous people is similar to a butcher knife. The Hammock besides it's regular use, can also be used to trap small animals, a fish net, carry food, etc. The machete speaks for itself, although I would would "cheat" and get one with a saw back, and a self sharpening sheath. The mattock is the primary tool for cultivation, I can hoe, dig, use it as a hoe-dad (sp?) it has a 1,000 and 1 uses . I would want to find me a nice cave near a fresh water spring, although building a lean-to wouldn't be a problem. With palm trees, breadfruit, taro, cassava plant, MANGOS and all the rest of mother natures bounty I would do quite well.

Sure, why not. I've been away for so long, what's another year? Especially with a fat paycheck like that at the end.
How would I live and survive? Day by day, just like I've been doing. I've survived everything else so far.
I would miss certain people, some more than others, but I would pass the time by writing, as I do in my blog, and I think would have a book or two done by the time I got off the island.

I could do it. I'd build a teepee for shelter or whatever from sticks and leaves. I'd eat berries and stuff like that. I'd have water, just don't put me in the middle of the ocean, I want drinking water so a lake. as long as I had water I'd be okay....I'd come home skinny tho..mm maybe I should go to an island. haha.
I think I'd be really sad without my boyfriend, laptop and music though.

Wow, in a heart beat! Fish, roots, berries.snake meat is good. Limbs from trees, leafs. I was recently asked by a friend, how can I handle living alone for 6 years, when he can't stand to be alone 1 night. At first after the divorce it was hard, but then I found me.... I had lost myself in my marriage. Finding the person I was, compared to the person I became, made me stronger, self reliant. I like who I am, for that reason alone, I could survive.

Yes. Not a problem. If it was the south seas, even easier. Have had survival training. 1/2 the money up front first.

Yes
That depends on the islands natural resources
A cave most likely...an EMPTY cave with no snakes, no bears...no nothing.
If I couldn't survive on fruits and berries anymore, then I'd build a fishing pole and go fishing. Then I'd build a fire to cook the fish over. Good plan huh?

I've survived a lot of things, so I just might be able to. What I'd do, exactly, I don't know right now, but when the moment comes, I tend to do whatever is necessary to survive.

Well, one million dollars arent gonna do you any good when you are alone =)
Basically you just have to depend on your secluded island, things like learning to climb trees to pick coconuts, or learning how to dig pits to save water.... Simple things like these can prolong your inhabitence in the island...

With one million dollars you could live on an island for a long time. Heck...you could even start a resort business and end up getting your money back...and then some. : )
