It's for a research paper in Language Arts, on Animal Experimentation.

Every year, over two hundred million innocent animals are injured or killed in scientific experiments across the world. Of those animals, between seventeen and twenty million are used in the United States alone. It’s said that an animal dies in a laboratory every three seconds. Those in favor of animal experimentation say they’re taking animals’ lives to save humans. But is it really necessary to subject animals to torturous conditions or painful experiments in the name of science? Is it ethical to destroy an animal’s life while simply testing lipstick or shampoo? Animal experimentation, like many of the issues we face today, is difficult to argue against, and just as hard to support.

I'm against animal research, is that clear in my writing? Also, do my statistics make sense?

You mentioned that "it's said that an animal dies in lab..."

who says this? Put the person's name in there or word it this way... "...in the United States alone; infact, an animal dies in a lab every three seconds." or something of this sort

Plus, your thesis is too broad. You are saying Animal experimentation is difficult to support. In you thesis, you need to put something that states your opinion. Your thesis should state what is your stand on the issue. Your thesis does not take a stand.
For example, "Animal experimentation should be abolished because it is torturous and painful to animals." or " Animal experimentation should be abolished because it is unethical to destroy an animal's life." Or something of this sort...

Then in your body, you need to explain why u think it is torturous or why you think it is unethical.

Right now, your thesis is very vague and it will be very hard to support it. What will you put in your body that defends your thesis?

What is your argument? You ask questions, but you dont actually take a stand on one side or the other. Your thesis sounds.....well, wishy-washy. One can tell which side you are on from the tone, but you dont actually go out and say it.

Yes, I think this is a very good paragraph. Your opinion is clear, and I think your statistics are good. Nice job! :)

This statement tells me that you are undecided: Difficult to argue against - Just as hard to support.
