Ok...I'm going to spat my nearly conspiracy theory here...FINALLY! I've been thinking it and I never get a chance to actually say it...its easier to sound insane on the internet than in real life...

Marajuana is helpful to people and makes people feel peacefully friendly to one another. The government CAN NOT have that if it hopes to maintain war anywhere.

On the flip side, cigarettes, alcohol, chemical additives in our food all stand to make people more nervous (easier for corporations and government to control), sicker (again, sick people are easy to control and manipulate) and more angry (angry people are more likely to want to go to war for the sake of being able to legally kill someone.)

Now whether or not the outcome was intentional, the result is the same. If these "legalizations" of cigarettes, alcohol and chemical additives weren't an intentional attempt to manipulate and control society, it is the result anyway.

Marajuana should ABSOLUTELY be legalized and even encouraged if the corporations and goverenment wanted a peaceful and healthy society...but they don't and it will be a cold day in hell when something healthy and peace making is legal in a world where people want each other's money and fighting ability more than they want health and peace.

Feels good to finally say whats on my mind!!! :)

I don't know if you are Canadian or American. The only reason we Canadians are taxed so high for cigarettes, despite the power lobbies wanting the taxes way lower is not because the government loves us. It is fed up paying for smoking related diseases. Since all are covered for health insurance government thought it only fair that smokers pay big tax, as they take risk.
That is likely how pot will be legalized. so Fed can regulate and make sure poisonous stuff is not added and probably try to remove the most cancerous elements...Not Love..TOO EXPENSIVE to treat..Mary.

It's all about the money. Smoking is pointless and dangerous.I think sale of all Tobacco products should be illegal. Maybe grandfather it in. Starting today everyone 21 today can buy them. Everyone under 21 today it will be illegal for them to buy. In 10 years you will have to be 31 and so on . so in 40 years very few will be able to purchase them . Eventually none left. That way current smokers aren't effected but new smokers will be discouraged.

So funny.... people smoke pot while critically ill and it helps them tremendously while tobacco and it's carcinogens and chemicals kill. Lot of money lobbying to protect tobacco. Sad...

Yes. Interesting isn't it? One wonders if Marijuana were legalized how much money the government would make in taxing its users. I am surprised that Twinkies, junk food and fattening desserts are not likewise heavily taxed, as they are just as bad for the human body. However, we can be certain that someone in Congress thought about it.

This is my view on marijuana and tobacco. Tobacco is worse for you than marijuana. Marijuana, when used for medicinal purposes, can help people with cancer and glaucoma. Cigarettes just fill your lungs with carcinogens and they just kill you. Marijuana should be regulated as a medicine.
