will a 235 size tire fit on a 8" rim?

my truck came with 235X15 on a 7.5" rim. I then bought 8" rims and put 31.10.50 on them. Can I go back to 235's and put them on my 8" rims.

Yes sir. You didn't say weather they were 235 75,70, 65,60 or smaller aspect ratio. My father had 235-70's from Chevrolet when he bought his 73 Corvette 454. It had 8 inch rims also. Smaller aspect ratio tires respond well to added rim widths anyway. Good Luck.

They will fit, but the sidewall will be spread farther and the tire will not be as tall.
