In my experience, it makes no difference. Text book examples say I would go perfect with Taurus or Leo. The sun signs I get along worst with. Also Capricorns I don't get along with at all, or Cancers.
All that from personal experience, and I am a Scorpio, if anyone should care. It doesn't matter what sign you're matched with, you just make the best of it.

So people, tell me, why is it so important to you personally to match your sign to that of your partner?

the sun signs I've noticed don't match with me are the ones that are supposed to match Scorpio in the text books, which is what most people are so keen on finding out, what the textbooks say about their sign matching their partner's.

I also have loads of Cancer friends, only in a romantic relationship it somehow never worked. Too emotional and too clingy for me - Scorpio is supposed to like that.

My point is, when someone asks what sign would match theirs, they're looking for what the textbooks say - but in reality, since a natal horoscope can be very different from just the sun sign, what the text books say is just no use. The question I posed, so, could be a bit rhetorical in a way.

another add; men do it as well, I have men asking me that question all the time. I always tell them they would work out great and to go for it, you don't know until you try it. And that's what I do as well.

you are just looking on the surface of your star sign and your compatability, no good just reading general text books, not ALL of one sign are exactly the same.

you should get you personal horoscope done by your date, time and place of birth

It is a general indicator of compatibility. To do a full compatibility analysis you need birth date, time and place information and then match up all the planets of each chart. Most people don't have that information at their fingertips so they just take the easy short-cut and match up sun signs.

Using the short cut - leo is square scorpio which could not be a worse combination. Scorpio is opposite taurus which is not an easy going aspect - they are complete opposites. I don't understand why your text book would say they are your best matches. Anyway, the short method matches your observations.

But not getting along with cancers - now that is not in agreement with the short method. Cancer and Pisces should be your best sun sign matches. Capricorn and Virgo are also typically good matches although not as compatible. Check out your moon and rising signs and maybe the mystery will be revealed.

I understand what your saying, but for some people this makes a lot of difference especially based on some people's experience. Just because this doesn't make a difference for you doesn't mean the same thing for someone else. Believe it or not I find that I don't have good relationships with certain signs. For instance I'm a Sagittarius, and it says I'm not compatible with Scorpio's. This is so true because it never works out for me no matter what. I do believe that people are people and we all have our different personalities, but our signs play a big part in that too. It's not to say people don't make it with other signs because they do all the time, but for some people signs play an important part for them when being with someone. I'm with a Leo, and Leo's are supposed to go great with Sagittarius. I believe that because my boyfriend of 5 years is absolutely the best thing for me. We connect so well, and were very compatible. Out of every man I've had he's the best one. Were best friends, and soul mates.

Because they are only looking at the surface!! A persons birth chart looks at all the planets, plus the sun.

When you meet someone you are well matched to it could be because you have the same rising sign, moon sign, or in relationships matching Venus or Mars.

The questions on yahoo relating to horoscopes can be very 1 dimensional. I'm Scorpio too, but get on with Geminis (my rising) and Capricorns, (my mars) but like you I don't have any Cancer friends, so don't believe the hype!! Your right

Think you just answered your own question, you just eliminated a quarter of the horoscope wheel.

I am not totally into Astrology, but it sure does seem that it affects some of us. I am a taurus and have certain signs that I have difficulties with. Pisces is my worst, aries seems to be my best. That isn't supposed to be according to astrology.

My dad was a sagittarius and mom was a pisces and were married over 50 yrs. From what they said it was pretty rough going sometimes, relationship wise. I adored him and tho I loved her, we sure didn't get along.

I think some people find out your sign then automatically judge whether your the right one or not.

Typical Scorpio comment !! - I think people just look for reassurance that they are, in fact with the right person - at the end of the day, there is an exception to every rule, but you must know people who are the same star sign who have similar qualities ? there is something in this stuff, and if you choose to believe it or not - there is truth in it.

your zodiac signs does play a huge roll in the way you express yourself, personality, and attitudes
not all sun signs match to what the books say.
look im an aries and i dont get along with fire signs like me, eg: leo, sag, or an aries like me.
it depends on the day and time you are born. my rising sun is a capricorn, and my fiance is a taurus, and his rising sun is a pisces, and apparently capricorn and pisces are a good match.
but aries and a taurus are a semi good match but not a match made in heaven.
and from your parents mine are my mother is a sag, and my dad a virgo, i never really got along with my mother but my dad i did.
my fiance his mother is a libra and his dad a scorpio.
taurus and scorpio get along but not with a libra like his mom.
i get along with his dad because we both have mars as are ruling planet and my sun sign is capricorn, earth and water mix well, as do fire and water, but remember water puts out fire but fire can burn on water also. fire and earth mix well to but to a certian degree, earth can put out fire but fire can burn harder when smothered by earth.
i know that it may not make sence but if you read closer and do some research it will make senceok hun

good luck

Although you answered your own question and I'm not an astrologer, people ask others what their sign is, simply as another thing to talk about, to get to know one-another etc..others who are into it, believe in the powers of their signs and compatibility. If you truly believe in something, it works.

The ancient Greeks went by the percentage of which signs were usually paired. You don't necessarily have to use it to figure out which people you date or don't date. Most people also use Chinese horoscopes. It just depends on if the person is interested in astronomy or not.

On one hand, yu say it makes no difference, and on the other hand you say they sun signs that you are supposed to be more compatible with are ones you "get along worst with".

So obviously it makes a difference according to you, and you make no sense. Hmmm?
