The iPhone: Price - $499 4GB, $599 8GB...All the money is really worth it.

Some phones are twice as much as this phone but, do they have a full operating system on them?...Doubt it!

Yes you do. I was listening to This Week in Tech's podcast yesterday with Leo Laporte from the old Screensavers show and they said that yes. The iPhone will bee $500-$600 plus a two year commitment fee of $200 + monthly charges. They said that it appears Mr Jobs primary market may be Asia and Europe where this type of beautiful technology is already popular. Apparently, Americans love their flip phones and tactile feedback buttons as opposed to a beautiful glass screen with no tactile feedback. Hope this helps some. Engadget's latest podcast also talks about these issues.

$600 does not include monthly fees, plans and stuff. You do not have to pay for monthly fees etc for the iPhone, but that is only if you buy the phone for display :) So you will still need to pay for operator's usage, monthly fees as you call it, just like any ordinary phones.
personally I feel that the phone is quite pricey, and the features are quite ordinary. Do you know that the Japanese are snubbing this phone? Because the phone is way too expensive, just because it is manufactured by Apple.
