I used to, now I just don't care less...they have the choice of taking or leaving me....I find it's too much hard work trying to impress people all of the time....and now I find people do appreciate me just as I am.

Nope. This me, take it or leave it. You don't like me there's door. Don't let it hit you on the a** on the way out. The trouble with trying to please people by changing is that you change so much you forget who you are. You change for this person, now that person doesn't like you, so you change. You end up confused and miserable, and possibly alone.
Stay true to yourself. You are important and special. We are all unique individuals, rare and precious, and if people can't see that they need there eyes checked.

No matter what anyone tells you, people do care what SOME people think about them. For if they didnt, then they would not care about their reputation, which is something that EVERYONE should care about.
For example, while i really dont give a dam what most people say about me or anything like that, i do care about how my sister, brother, and mother feel about me when it comes to me being a upstanding person and a focused individual who wants something out of life more so than the neighborhood i grew up in.
I do care about what people think about my artwork, as another example. Because that is what i hope to be doing until the day that i die. So i have to strive myself and stay committed to the tasks at hand for that to happen. For that to happen, i need to know what people out there think about my work.
Do not care what people think about you when it comes down to it though, because overall i do not. But do care about your reputation.

No, never. I just realised that the dummest thing is to care how other perceive you, there will ALWAYS be somebody who wont like you and why even bother about it.
I have better things in life to do than caring what others think of me...
i am the way i am, take it or leave it.

I don't feel the need to impress people, because i don't care what they may think, you lose that ( need )when you get older.

I don't want to send the wrong message about myself. But, if I know I didn't do anything wrong, then I don't worry about how other people perceive me.

Not exactly...I don't care what others in general think of me, but I do care what my friends think of me because they are special to me and I don't let people in very often. Maybe that is silly of me, but that is what I tend to do.

no I am myself all the time I'm not a lier so why would I play to be someone I'm not you can usually tell when someone is a fake and trying to impress you

Not anymore.I think it comes with maturity. Everyone has felt insecure about this at one point or another.But you can't let it rule your life.
