None whatsoever. I find it very difficult to respect someone who:
1. Ran and hid in the Air National Guard thanks to Daddy's influence and then went AWOL while there. Others put on their country's uniform and went to Viet Nam - why couldn't he?
2. Then, as President, asks America's sons and daughters to go fight in a war for which there is no reason and which has every indication as being as much of a boondoggle as Viet Nam - a no-win situation.
3. Lied to the American people about the reasons for going to war and instead of ending it and letting the people of that country fight their own civil war - keeps our troops in harm's way. And he wants to send more!!
4. As justification for that war - at every opportunity -hid behind the national tragedy of 9/11 when that country and its leader had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11.
5. Every chance he gets if he doesn't know a reasonable answer to a question - hides behind the Bible and Jesus Christ for his reason. Its unlikely Jesus Christ would approve of his war or his other actions.
6. Caters to the rich and powerful, giving them tax breaks, as well as major corporations, while the middle class continues to shrink. At some point, with policies such as this, we'll have two classes - the rich and the poor. The only other major, industrialized societies to have that are/were major communist powers.
7. Vetoes federal funding of stem cell research - something which might hold hope and promise for those with debilitating illnesses - on the grounds that they are destroying "life."
8. Refuses to recognize there are people in this country who need federal assistance following a major natural disaster (Katrina) and keeps telling them they'll get it. Most are still waiting.
9. Has squandered a massive federal budget surplus to fight a war that less than 30% of the American people believe is justified.
10. Has lessened environmental controls on major polluters while refusing to acknowledge there is such a thing as global warming. Finally, after 6 years, he says there might be such a thing.

I must be completely honest in this quesition. I disagree with Bush in many things but I must admit that being president cant be easy. Someone will always hate the president simply because he has power over what happens to them. As for me I cant say i know him as a person and perhaps being a fellow texan in different circumstances i might like the guy. So in answer to your question yes although i disagree with him i do respect a man who is willing to take on a that position.

None.
Respect has to be earned and Bush has done NOTHING to earn my respect.
His reasons for invading Iraq were outright lies.
His tax breaks for only the wealthiest Americans have broken the back of the middle class.
His education policies are the laughing stock of the world.
The man is a menace to American society.

We all must respect the office and the person that holds that office. Having respect does not mean agreeing on everything they do or say. We have way to much hatred and disrespect going on in our country today. This man has shouldered the war on terror since 9/11. Not much respect for this person and this challenge is being shown for his efforts.

Yes, how could anyone not respect a person that is willing to bet his legacy and political career doing what they believe in, whether it's right or wrong... to many of our politicians don't have the guts to stand up for what they believe in.
Not a Bush supporter

demanding to assert. i think of it extremely is style of early to decide how historic previous could even decide Reagan, Nixon, LBJ, Kennedy, or perhaps Eisenhower, Truman and FDR. the explanation is that truly everyone continues to be alive who have been alive on the time they have been presidents. As such, many peoples comments are nonetheless colored by skill of the non-public perspectives of those adult males they stepped forward on a similar time as they have been serving as president. purely after everyone who grow to be alive on a similar time as those adult males served has kicked the bucket can we even have the skill to work out how historic previous will handle them. working example, many actually everyone seems to be motivated of their comments approximately Kennedy by skill of his assassination, which has a tendency to get sympathy even from many that have been politically antagonistic to him. yet as quickly as actually everyone who grow to be alive for the time of his presidency is long previous, then the comments of destiny generations could have the skill to be much less biased of their perspectives of his presidency. further, Kennedy's function in our historic previous, as properly as the different president, isn't totally finished as rules began then have not inevitably performed themselves out... and strikes taken by skill of a prior president could desire to nonetheless have destiny outcomes. working example... Reagan is hailed as a hero because of the entire Berlin Wall and Fall of the Soviet Union element. yet what if in some years some thing happens ensuing in a important conflict with the Russians, and that's shown to have it extremely is roots in rules which grew out of the autumn of the Soviets... properly then historic previous, interior the top, won't look favorably upon Reagan. i come across it unclear that present day comments will exchange a lot... although that's obtainable. FDR grow to be hailed as a hero by skill of many that have been alive for the time of his reign. Now that maximum of that era is long previous, and we see various of his rules enjoying out even on the instant, he's no longer virtually so familiar as he grow to be then. we can on no account understand how historians a hundred years from now will view such issues. Nixon could finally end up seen a savior, and Kennedy as a dud. BTW, what does the question could desire to do with Reagans son or timber daughters?
