My fear is not of death itself but of not having anything after death.I would love it if we where really reincarnated or had a life after death then I wouldn't care when I die.U never know cuz everyone has there own beliefs and which one is the most true I feel I will never know unless it's proven. It's like I want to believe but sometimes I don't and sometimes I do.After my child died I was waiting in line somewhere n this women kept starring at me so finally I just said hello to kinda break the ice and let her know that I noticed her starring and u know what she said? She said I'm sorry 4 starring so much but I see a child a baby sitting on your shoulders n wow did that freak me out n then she asked me if I had a baby that passed away cuz she can see a baby .From that day forward I believed in something still not sure what but spirits at least r still around cuz this women did not know me or anything that had happened 6 months prior. It helped me a lot hearing that from this person cuz it brought me out of my rut from the death n then I believed that god just needed another angel so I could move on n I believe till this day it was cuz of what this women said to me.Well bye 4 now and have a wonderful wkend.

Soooo many people seem to think, for some reason, that if you don't believe in a mysterious invisible superbeing called "God" it has to mean that person doesn't believe in there being possibly something after death.- that you might continue to exist in some other disembodied form. There are millions of people including myself who see these as two totally separate issues.
I absolutely do NOT believe in the existence of some invisible, all-powerful god-being. But I do believe that there is an overwhelming body of compelling evidence that when we die we transition to another form of being, in which we retain our full awareness of who we were. What exactly happens from that point is pure speculation. You can believe with fanatical certainty that you are going to Heaven, or Hell,or whatever, but belief is not proof, so we will all just have to wait and find out. If there is absolutely nothing, as many people believe - you just die, "go pop" the end of you, well, at least you wont feel a thing lol.

I don't believe in God, however I though death/dying would be frightening. In 1999 I was in a car accident, remained conscious, and on the way to hospital, I died. Luckily they brought me back after 3 minutes. So 2 points
1: Not only is there nothing on the other side, there is no other side.
2: Death/dying is not frightening, in fact it's rather dreary.

I have no fear of death itself. I think I shall be in too much pain and it will be a happy release. I don't want to die too young though as there are many things still to be done. I was brought up to believe but now I have my own set of beliefs and morality. I look at death as making room for the next generation to have their turn.

I don't look forward to death. It's not something I anticipate with a great deal of eagerness, but I'm not particularly afraid of it. It happens to everyone, and I've got no reason to believe I'm exempt.
I once read in C. P. Snow's "The Two Cultures," that "each of us dies alone." I would imagine that it's the most individual experience that one can have, if one is conscious through it.
All we know of life and the world dies with us. Each of us is "a little world made cunningly," in Donne's phrase. It may be that idea that leads us to believe in an apocalyptic end, the notion that when I die, all the world dies with me.

Why would you be afraid death? Everything has its time....and if there is an 'I', then I have spent more time not in this particular existence than I have spent in it. Life as we know it, may in fact be the period in our lives when we are blind to the entirety of existence, and death the release! Either way, as Yeats had for his tombstone.....Cast a cold eye on life and death, Horseman pass bye!

Just cause you dont want to die does not make it right to say you will transfer to disney land, get to make out with your favourite pop star or be able to walk into the girls changing/locker room.
Its a delusion
Why make up fairy stories so you dont feel afraid of dying.
Its not real.
It still hurts to die usually then no more worries as like falling asleep

Yes, I fear death. I have way too much to do before my light goes out.
And I'd rather not dwell on the moment in the future when I do die.

I as an atheist i don't fear death, i have come to terms with the fact that i am only human and will have to die some day whether it be by natural causes, an accident or murder, so i live my life each day as if it were my last. and because of that i have a very highly paid job and and am doing great. and when my time comes it will come

No, I'm not afraid of death at all.
At the moment of death, your brain releases a ton of feel-good chemicals. So the experience is pleasant.
