True dry cleaning, as done by the professionals, can't be done at home. The process uses solvents that are not readily available to the general public, and (trust me on this) you wouldn't want them in your home anyway. You can often achieve good results with products like Woolite. I've heard of 'dryer sheet' products, but I'm rather skeptical of those, since it seems like you're just tumbling clothes in the dryer to knock off loose dirt and lint, and giving a fragrance boost.

One thing to remember--it doesn't all have to be dry cleaned. Woolens that aren't dirty just need to be aired out and you can do that on the fluff/air cycle on the dryer. There are also several products out there (Dry Cleaners Secret is one I use) that lets you do the dry cleaning in your dryer! Just follow the directions and you'll do great.

There is a product called "Dry Cleaners Secret". It is sheets, look like fabric softener sheets, that you put in the dryer, with the clothing that needs to be cleaned, and it is supposed to be same as with dry cleaner shops. However, you are not supposed to use it if the clothing has any stains on it.
