Does it seem that the media in the UK has been focusin on "Jerry Springer type" shows too much.
This Jade Goody character could be considered a "Chav" .
Why do you think , if you do think, that the media is focusing so much on rediculing the working class through these types of negative stereotypes?

whenever i hear the word chav, i always think of cheap gold. my vision (and this is just mine) is of someone dressed in cheap gold, like 5 ear piercings, sovereign rings on every finger, 3 chains, wearing a tracksuit with their hair scraped back in a ponytail very tightly.
other people assume if you wear Burberry (jumper/cap) then your a chav.
I suppose in the uk, i really took notice of the media labelling Caroll (the lotto lout as he has been labelled) as a chav, but everyone has their views on what a chav really is.

There is a difference between working class and "chav". I am working class and I live in quite a bad area, but I have just got a decent job, I am bringing my son up with manners, and I dont drink beer in the street. A chav is someone with no job, who sponges of the state all their life, goes to their local pub and has a fight at the end of the night and has no social skills.

Chavs are not working class, actually most chavs don't work at all. Find out what a chav actually is before you become a bleeding heart for their cause! I'll be there to say I told you so when they steal your wallet.
